Pecta-Sol® Modified Citrus Pectin is a complex polysaccharide (long-chain carbohydrate) obtained from the peel and pulp of citrus fruits. It is valued for its galactosyl component, which was studied in the research of Dr. Kenneth J. Pienta, MD.

This galactosyl component of Pecta-Sol® Modified Citrus Pectin is the key to its role in maintaining good health. This essential component is known for its ability to interfere with the binding properties of cancer cell-surface proteins called galectins. This prevents tumor cells from adhering to each other or to the inner wall of blood vessels. Certain cells of the prostate, breast, colon, lymphatic system, skin, brain, and larynx, have on their surface specific proteins called carbohydrate-binding galectin-3.
